MBA Robotics Team Places 2nd in Competition

On October 20th, MBA Robotics team traveled to Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena to participate in the annual Music City BEST Robotics Competition. Sixteen schools were given only six weeks to build a robot to navigate a playing field that was universally described as the most challenging course in the tournament’s 26-year history. Michael Owings, Brandon Hall, Vishal Parikh, Brandon Lewis, and Alex Wang pulled off some impressive moves with only minimal practice because the robot takes so long to build well.

The team was in first place after the seeding rounds concluded allowing MBA to reach the finals for the first time in team history.  When the smoke cleared, Big Red came in second place and even more impressively won the Founder’s Award for the most Creative Design. This was a true team effort—from the 7th graders to the seniors— the whole team pushed itself to the breaking point.
