Big Red fall just short of second "Music City Miracle"

An immense effort by the junior school tennis players who had lost 0-5 to Ensworth just a week eariler saw us come up just short in the Championships against a strong Tigers team
Coming off the back of an excellent performance against McCallie the previous evening, the Big Red tennis players got the day off to a great start with convincing wins against BA at all positions in the line-up. Dawson Stone in particular put in his best match of the season in an 8-0 victory. That left us to face Ensworth in the final, having been swept by them a week earlier. Ensworth put 2 points on the board relatively quickly at no.2 & no.3 singles, leaving just 3 matches on court and us needing to win all 3 to take the title. Ethan Bittles now put in his performance of the season to win 8-6 at no.1 singles to keep our hopes alive. Moments later, James Buntin & Billy Rennhoff completed a dramatic tie-break win in a set during which they had trailed 0-3, 3-6, and 6-7. Everything now came down to the tie-break in the no.2 doubles final, and despite an excellent effort from Elliott Bragg and Jackson Miller, Ensworth's pair fought hard for the win and secured the overall team title. MBA finished runners-up, but in a manner that every player on the team should be proud of.
