Class of 2027 Heads to Camp Laney

The MBA seventh grade class loaded up on buses this morning for its annual excursion to Camp Laney in Mentone, Alabama. The two-night class retreat offers a wide array of outdoor activities. The primary purpose of the trip is letting students drawn from more than four dozen different schools get to know one another, make friends, and bond as a class. It also gives the boys the opportunity to work together - building trust, offering support, and learning to appreciate the talents of one another. Some of the activities, such as the wall and the high ropes, will challenge the students as individuals and as members of a team.

Faculty members and advisors serve as chaperones and assist with the instruction of some of the activities. In addition, highly skilled specialists in outdoor team-building will direct the boys through the high ropes course. Other events include the "build-a-boat" exercise which challenges students to use provided materials to construct a boat and paddle across a small stream, a tug-o-war competition, campfires and battleball. Great food provided at the camp will cap off three days of fun and friendship.
