Class of 2015 Leads State with 17 National Merit Semifinalists
MBA is pleased to announce that the National Merit Scholarship Program has selected 17 members of the Class of 2015 as National Merit Semifinalists. This total is the highest for any school in the state of Tennessee this year
The list includes: Sam Bellet, Clay Cavallo, Joseph Downey, Alex Dunn, Kang Huh, Charles Hunter, Aaron Kaplan, Thomas Marosz, Matt Miccioli, Michael Milam, James Owen, William Richardson, Harry Stewart, William Snow, Anthony Swenson, Richard Thornton, and Harrison Wheeler.
These boys join the list of nearly 900 MBA students recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation since 1981.
This year, there are approximately 16,000 National Merit Semifinalists across the country chosen from the 1.5 million entrants from 22,000 schools in the competition. About 90 percent of the students selected as Semifinalists are selected as Finalists, and approximately half of that number attains the National Merit Scholar title.
