Alumni Events | Montgomery Bell Academy

At MBA, alumni connections are celebrated year-round through a wide variety of events that honor tradition, camaraderie, and community. From signature gatherings like the Patrick Hale Memorial Golf Tournament and the Regen Jewett Memorial Clay Shoot to reunions, tailgates, and family-friendly celebrations, our alumni events offer meaningful opportunities to reconnect with classmates, cheer on the Big Red, and support MBA’s mission for future generations.

Signature Events
The Patrick Hale Memorial Golf Tournament

One of MBA’s signature alumni events, the Patrick Hale Memorial Golf Tournament honors the memory of Patrick Hale ’92, who loved MBA and the camaraderie that extended well beyond graduation. Following his tragic passing in 2003, Patrick’s friends and classmates established this tournament to celebrate his life and legacy.

Since its inception, the event has raised more than $1 million for the Patrick Hale Fund, supporting MBA’s mission of developing young men of character and purpose. As Patrick’s father, Walter Hale ’61, shares: “The Patrick Hale Fund is about investing in young men to give them the values and qualities that will influence them over a lifetime.”

The 2026 tournament date will be announced this fall.

Regen Jewett Memorial Clay Shoot

Held each October at the Nashville Gun Club, the Regen Jewett Memorial Clay Shoot brings alumni, families, and friends together for a day of sport, fellowship, and purpose. The event includes a clay shoot, prizes, and a cocktail gathering—all in celebration of Regen Jewett, a loyal friend, loving son and brother, and true sportsman.

This annual tradition honors Regen’s life and spirit while supporting MBA’s Named Scholar Program through the Regen Jewett Memorial Scholarship Fund, opening doors for boys from all walks of life to receive an exceptional education. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the tournament has become a tremendous success year after year.
