High School | Scholar | Montgomery Bell Academy

The four years of high school at MBA are a time of discovery, challenge, and growth. We provide both structure and flexibility—giving boys the foundation they need and the freedom to explore what excites them. Just as important, high school is a time of camaraderie, as boys form friendships and share experiences that shape their character as much as their intellect.

In 9th and 10th grade, students follow a core curriculum that builds essential skills across English, math, science, Latin, and history, while also beginning modern languages, the arts, and other passions. By junior and senior year, the path becomes more personalized, with 28 AP courses and a wide range of electives. Students also step into greater leadership roles in athletics, service, publications, student government, and the arts.

Support and challenge go hand in hand at MBA.

Daily help sessions, academic counseling, and peer tutoring ensure students have the tools to succeed, while independent research opportunities and free summer courses allow them to go further. By Commencement, every boy graduates with a broad, rigorous, and deeply personal education—grounded in tradition, strengthened by friendships, and carried forward with confidence and character.
