Nine Montgomery Bell Academy seniors were recently named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. Students earn the distinction "for their exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry." Of nearly 1.5 million test-takers nationwide, about 50,000 are recognized in the program, placing MBA's Commended Students in the top 3%. They join MBA's 15 National Merit Semifinalists, who scored in the top 1%.

Recognized as Commended Students were: Jackson Baker, Crosby Bonde, Kemper Evans, Will Fulwider, J.P. Newman, Baker Rennhoff, Isaac Roark, Tyler Roh, and Van Williamson.
