Three Montgomery Bell Academy seniors were awarded the prestigious National Merit $2,500 Scholarship on Wednesday, placing them among just 2,500 students selected nationwide from a pool of more than 15,000 finalists. Nikhil Misra, Res Seibels, and Ethan Sides earned the highly competitive scholarship after first being named National Merit Scholarship Finalists earlier this year.

Beyond their academic accomplishments, all three students have made meaningful contributions to life on The Hill through leadership, competition, and service to their teams and organizations. Nikhil has been a key contributor to MBA’s Science Olympiad and mock trial teams, both of which have competed nationally during his time at the school. Res won a major debate tournament this year at the St. Mark’s Invitational and advanced to the semifinals of the Tournament of Champions, while Ethan served as an assistant captain of MBA’s championship-winning hockey team this winter and proudly represented the Big Red on the tennis courts this spring.

Nikhil will attend the University of Virginia as a Jefferson Scholar. Both Res and Ethan will continue their academic studies at Dartmouth College.

MBA congratulates Nikhil, Res, and Ethan on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to all they will accomplish in the years ahead.
