Montgomery Bell Academy’s King Society welcomed eleven new members this week during its annual induction ceremony, recognizing students who exemplify quiet, consistent leadership and a deep commitment to serving others. Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s conviction that “life’s most urgent question is what we are doing for others,” the society honors students who live out this call through their actions, and the newest inductees uphold that legacy with distinction.

Henry Anderson ’28, Owen Anderson ’27, Siddhant Dighe ’27, William Guo ’28, Russell Kaegi ’28, Ben Mantle ’27, Jack McDaniel ’26, Ethan Moore ’27, Ethan Osmundson ’27, Jameson Ridings ’27, and Jack Rogers ’26 join the society’s seven existing members: Justin Dorfman ’27, James Hood ’26, Saatu Jindal ’26, Nico Recchia ’26, Owen Rouse ’26, Ethan Sides ’26, and Spencer Simmons ’26.

During the ceremony, students heard from one of the society’s founders, Dr. Edward Conley ’04, who encouraged the assembly to be beacons of hope, servants to others, and unafraid to take risks in pursuit of what is right.

With the backdrop of Dr. King’s “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech, Dr. Conley reminded students, “We may not be on the mountaintop, but we can ascend toward the peak every day.”
