Montgomery Bell Academy is pleased to announce that Michael Via will join the School as its next Director of Enrollment Management, effective July 1, 2026.
Michael brings more than a decade of experience in independent school admission and enrollment leadership. He most recently served as Chief Enrollment Management Officer at St. John’s Episcopal School in Dallas, where he was a member of the senior leadership team and led a comprehensive evolution of the school’s enrollment strategy.
Before moving into enrollment leadership, Michael worked as a classroom teacher, coach, and advisor at The Potomac School, St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School, and Norfolk Academy. His background as an educator and coach continues to shape his approach to enrollment management and his ability to represent a school’s mission with authenticity while partnering meaningfully with families.
Michael holds a Master of Education in Independent School Leadership from Vanderbilt University Peabody College, giving him both professional expertise and a strong personal connection to Nashville. An alumnus of Hampden-Sydney College and a lifelong educator, Michael brings a deep appreciation for MBA’s mission and a shared commitment to forming Gentlemen, Scholars, and Athletes—young men of wisdom and moral integrity prepared to make significant contributions to their communities.

During the coming semester, Greg Ferrell, MBA’s current Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, will work closely with Michael to ensure a thoughtful and collaborative transition. The School is deeply grateful for Greg’s leadership and unparalleled service to MBA and looks forward to celebrating his many contributions as he prepares to retire in June 2026.
Michael will relocate to Nashville with his wife, Sarah, and their sons—Reed (6), Harris (4), and Miller (1)—this summer. His leadership, experience, and passion for teaching and coaching will be a tremendous asset to Montgomery Bell Academy in the years ahead.
Please join us in welcoming Michael Via to the MBA family.
