The MBA track & field program captured its 13th consecutive Nashville City Championship on Thursday. The Big Red outpaced a field of 20 teams, beginning on Monday when Henry Ambrose placed first in the pole vault (15'06") and Trey Polley won the long jump (21'11"). On Tuesday, nine individuals and three relay teams qualified for the finals, and by Thursday, it was time to bring home the hardware.
Jack Wallace earned another place on MBA’s track record board—his fifth school record—as the Furman signee ran a 1:52.90 in the 800-meter, topping the previous mark by four seconds. Wallace also holds school records in the 1600-meter (2024), 4x800-meter relay (2023), mid-distance medley relay (2025), and distance medley relay (2024). Winners on Thursday included Wallace in the 1600-meter and two relay teams: the 4x800-meter and 4x400-meter.
In addition to those victories, 13 Big Red athletes posted personal bests across various events, with several achieving multiple new marks. Athletes setting career bests included: Henry Ambrose (pole vault), Hunter Armstrong (400-meter, 300-meter hurdles), Kaleb Ball (discus), Brady Bauer (3200-meter), Lawson Cox (400-meter), Gabe Guillamondegui (1600-meter), William Lennon (discus), Warner Hart (400-meter), David Mapangala (long jump), James Ory (shot put), Henri Perry (pole vault, 300-meter hurdles), Zach Riven (100-meter), and Jack Wallace (400-meter, 800-meter).
