Big Red Dominates in Title Defense
The MBA Math Teams took one big step in defending last seasons' championships with a dominating performance at JP2 this evening. The Big Red Mathletes flexed their alge-brains winning all six categories for the night. As a natural consequence of finishing first place in all subjects, MBA had several top individual finishers. Maithreya Gowda and Gerard O'Keefe placed 1st and 2nd, respectively, in Algebra 1. Peter Xu placed 1st and Alex Wang 3rd in Geometry. In Algebra 2 Bill Ouyang took second and Adam Wang placed fourth. In Precalculus Matt Hawkins, Colin Tang and Sam Meacham won 2nd, 3rd and 5th. Sam DeCoster and Alex Kalams tied for 1st in Calculus. Lastly, Dan McGuire placed 1st, Carlos Soria-Garcia 2nd and Hugh Graham 5th in Statistics. What a spectacular night! The Big Red plans to continue working for another great showing at next month's contest at Central Magnet High School.
