Warriors Wounded at the Battle of 42nd Avenue

MBA and Woodland Middle School faced each other in a rematch of a game played earlier this season in which the Big Red defeated the Warriors on their field 9-5. Charging back against a 2-0 MBA advantage, the Woodland Warriors regrouped and cut the lead to 3-2 with :30 left in the half. MBA retaliated with two goals in the remaining seconds to go up 5-3 at halftime. Patient attack and physical middie play fueled the Big Red scoring in the second half and dashed any hopes of a Warrior comeback. All players saw action as MBA rolled to a 9-4 win. Clay Adams led all scorers with four goals, Hayes McCord added two, while Christian Alford, Scott Gould, and Jack Keller each had one goal. The 8-3 7th grade team travels to USN this Thursday to take on the Tigers.
