Viking Invasion

On a warm Wednesday afternoon, the Crobes showed resilience after surrendering an early lead to the Vikings in a tough loss. Surrender to Vikings is not uncommon whether they're from Norway or from Brentwood. Surely, the Big Red will avenge this loss similar to the way the English avenged the loss of Scarborough to Vikings with a soaring victory at Stamford Bridge in 1066, during which Harald Hardrada, King of the Norseman, took an arrow to the throat.

Maybe it was humidity...maybe it was the cacophony of the nail guns exploding on the new construction behind us... but most likely, it was the two hard-throwing righties from Brentwood that silenced the Big Red's bats on this day. The 6-1 early deficit proved too much to overcome, but the boys fought back to shrink their lead heading into the last inning. With Nas Cook's speed on second and the heart of the order due up with one out in the bottom of the sixth, the Big Red had a chance to steal one from the Vikings. We'll get 'em next time.

Kinton Lewis and Bennett MacCurdy were both effective on the mound and kept the team in the game. Billy Morris, Bennett MacCurdy, Jack Kim, and Kinton Lewis scored runs, while Nas Cook, Mark Pyburn, Dan Gaw, and Swope Fleming each tallied an RBI.
