Montgomery Bell Academy defended its #1 national ranking this past weekend by winning the 2020 Barkley Forum at Emory University in Atlanta. The team of Aden Barton (20') and Sam Meacham ('21) finished the tournament a perfect 11-0. They bested a field of 106 teams from 21 different states. Aden Barton also won the award for the tournament's top individual speaker out of 212 debaters. Sam was 11th overall. The Barkley Forum is considered the most difficult and prestigious regular-season tournament in the country. This is the fourth consecutive year that MBA has participated in the final round, and the third time in four years that MBA has won first place at the highly regarded tournament.
