The MBA 8th Grade Football team capped off an undefeated season on Thursday with a 28-0 victory over an unbeaten CPA team in the annual Big Red Bowl. The swarming Big Red defense played outstanding to shut out a very explosive CPA offense. The secondary had its best game of the season, led by Duncan Smith, Miles Curry, Vinny Gaglione, Colton Black, Travonte Easley, and Jalen Hurd. 14 first half points came on a touchdown after Colton Black blocked a punt in the endzone, and another score where QB Jordan Roundtree hit a streaking Duncan Smith in stride for a long strike. The Microbes came out firing on all cylinders in the second half. Touchdowns came on runs by Roundtree and Carson Shaw, and kicker Jonah Rappuhn was 4-4 on extra points for the game. This has been a very special season, where all the boys have worked hard and improved. The class of 2014 has an extremely bright future, and the coaches are very proud of them.
