MBA Comes From Behind Against Ensworth

Mike Davidson
After a long week of exams, MBA beat rival Ensworth in exciting fashion on Friday. Turnovers and poor shooting hurt MBA early as the team got off to a slow start for the third game in a row and ended the first quarter down 14-6. MBA stuck with Ensworth in the second and third quarters, but an inability to force turnovers with the full court press combined with Ensworth's hot shooting from distance made it tough for MBA to chip away at the lead and the Big Red entered the final quarter down 39-32. MBA came alive in the fourth quarter, however, as Jack Hornsby, Jackson Owen, and Jack Hayles upped the defensive intensity and wore down Ensworth's guards. That defense led to turnovers which turned into easy buckets for MBA and as a result the team was able to outscore Ensworth 30-9 in the final quarter on the way to a 62-48 victory. Will Hoffman led the way in the fourth quarter by scoring 9 of his game-high 15 points in the final period. Jack Hornsby and Michael Lee were the other two scorers in double digits for the Big Red. They both scored 12 in the contest. MBA gets the weeekend off before competing in the Oakland Christmas Tournament next week.
