Big Red fall at Briarcrest

The MBA basketball team concluded its season Saturday night in Memphis with a 55-45 loss to Briarcrest.  Alex Bars' 11 first half points helped lead MBA to a 31-24 halftime lead.  However, a hot shooting Briarcrest team made 9 three's for the game and 6 in the second half to mount a comeback.  The Big Red trailed by 1 entering the fourth quarter and after exchanging the lead several times, MBA was down by 1 with just 2 minutes to play.   From there Briarcrest made their free throws and the Big Red were unable to score enough to keep pace.  Alex Bars led in scoring with 11 followed by Jermaine Francis with 10. 

While the end of the season is always difficult, this MBA squad had a terrific season and has much of which to be proud. Thanks to seniors Alex Bars, Vinny Gaglione, Charlie Hawkins, Elliott Morrissey, Jonah Rappuhn, Murphy Smiley, and Duncan Smith!
