MBA earned a 49-40 victory over the visiting Firebirds of Pear Cohn in thrilling fashion on Friday night in Tommy Owen Stadium. MBA sophomore tailback Ty Chandler scored an unprecedented 6 touchdowns on the night as he started the night with a 77 yard kickoff return on the opening play of the game. Senior Michael Lacey scooped up a blocked punt to add to the first half scoring as MBA raced to a 35-20 halftime lead. When MBA needed the defense to stand up and make a play they did. In the second half, Junior defensive lineman D'On Coofer intercepted a short pass and nearly scored as he was tackled at the goalline. The defense sealed the victory late in the fourth quarter with a goal line stand.
