After senior Michael Lacey returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, MBA used that momentum to cruise to a 42-7 victory over Pope John Paul II at Tommy Owen Stadium. The Big Red defense shut down the Knight attack with multiple defensive stops. Offensively, MBA was paced by the rushing attack of sophomore Ty Chanlder (167 yards on 9 carries and two touchdowns), senior Michael Lacey (88 yards on 4 carries and two touchdowns), and senior quarterback Cole Euverard (56 yards). This combination of suffocating defense and explosive offense led to a 42-0 halftime lead that MBA was able to maintain in the second half.
