The Big Red microbe soccer team played their best and toughest game of the year as they beat a tremendous CPA team 2-1 to win the HVAC championship. The team fell behind in the first minute, but they seemed to gain strength from the challenge. We battled hard while the defense played tremendous high pressure against their attack. Then fifteen minutes into the half Luke Bernatavitz scored the equalizer as he beat two defenders and slammed the ball into the back of the net. Then as the game wore on, we began to gain some momentum and Luke broke through again to score the winning goal. Ethan Way and Henry Hylbert did a tremendous job battling CPA's strong midfield, and Joel Elasy, Hunter Burch, Will Crawford, and Nikhil Peterson were fearless in the back. And as he has all season, Hugh Sullivan did an outstanding job as goalkeeper, especially in the second half. The team finished undefeated for the second straight year. As well, the team scored fifty goals for the season while surrendering ten. A great season!
