MBA Alumnus Brandt Snedeker to Lead Team USA in 2026 Presidents Cup
Montgomery Bell Academy alumnus Brandt Snedeker, Class of 1999, was recently announced as the captain of the United States Team for the 2026 Presidents Cup. Known as “Sneds” to those in both the Nashville and golfing communities, he will lead Team USA into the international event at Medinah Country Club in Illinois.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be named U.S. Team Captain for the 2026 Presidents Cup by my peers, and I’m looking forward to leading our guys into Medinah for what will certainly be an amazing week of golf,” said Snedeker in a statement shared by the Presidents Cup. “Representing my country in team competition has been a highlight of my PGA TOUR career, and I will lean on those experiences to ensure we are prepared and ready to compete against what I know will be a unified and determined International Team.”
Snedeker represented the United States in three events as a player, compiling a 6-5-0 record across the 2012 and 2016 Ryder Cups as well as the 2013 Presidents Cup. He served as an assistant captain at the 2024 Presidents Cup and is slated to serve as a vice captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup this fall.
Snedeker won nine times on the PGA TOUR, highlighted by the 2012 TOUR Championship—where he also captured the season-long FedExCup title—and the 2013 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, which propelled him to No. 4 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He is one of only 14 players in TOUR history to shoot a sub-60 round and was the recipient of the 2024 Payne Stewart Award, given for outstanding character and sportsmanship. Snedeker was also named MBA’s Distinguished Alumnus in 2017.
“Brandt Snedeker is among the game’s most respected players and one who has garnered the utmost admiration from his peers throughout his 21-year career, which was most recently recognized when he received the 2024 Payne Stewart Award for his outstanding character and sportsmanship,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan. “Brandt is a proven leader on and off the golf course—from his years representing the United States in team competition to building a family foundation benefiting children in his home state of Tennessee. I know he will be a tremendous captain and asset for the U.S. Team in 2026.”
