Microbe XC Records Nonsensical Win

Coach Reynolds
A bit frustrated by the lingering uncertainty about the result of last week’s meet, the Big Red harriers ran right out of their shoes at the Steeplechase today. So fired up was this team that one runner’s shoelaces exploded in a whorl of neon nylon...and that was before we even got warmed up.

Lining up against more than 120 fellow runners, MBA had plenty of competition on the horse track today. To be frank, the Big Red left them behind instantly. On their way to shredding the times they recorded last week, the boys claimed a victory that transcended the five senses. It would probably take at least 17 senses to fully appreciate the dominance of their performance today. Coincidentally, 17 was also the team’s score in the meet (just 2 points shy of a perfect score).

The scoring top five were Jack Montgomery (11:18), Thomas Dennis (11:21), Walker Pierce (11:24), William Le (11:30), and Minor Ballew (12:00). These guys finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th respectively. Joining them in the top 10 overall were Mitchell Chaffin (8th), William Seibels (9th), and William Dean (10th).
