Olfactory Assault on Big Red Falls Short

Coach Reynolds
The Big Red ran without 15 of its 26 runners today, and Ollie Cian may have also run without his shoes. What we did have were some hosts at the USN River Complex who wanted a win. They even unleashed the full stench of the Cumberland River upon unsuspecting runners who hadn't built up resistance to its wafts of waste in 100° heat.

In the face (particularly the nose part of it) of these obstacles, MBA rose to the challenge. Jack Montgomery wrestled both a Gator and an Eagle on his way to the top spot. Finishing within 1 second of each other, William Le and Thomas Dennis fought off two Tigers to claim spots 2 and 3 overall. Ollie Cian did have shoes on at one point, but then he didn't. Somewhere in there he rolled across the line in 9th place. William Dean came in 12th overall and may have returned one of Ollie's shoes in the process.

The Big Red secured the victory and struck back at the sour smell with sweet celebratory cupcakes and Gatorades.
