MBA falls at Hendersonville

The varsity basketball skeleton crew traveled to Hendersonville tonight to take on the Commandos.  A solid start gave way to a poor stretch early in the 2nd that saw the Big Red fall behind by 7.  After a timeout, the group climbed back into the game and a Kevin Die' coast to coast And 1 with a second left sent the Big Red to the half up 27-25.

While the team executed pretty well to start the 2nd half, we just couldn't get anything to go in the basket.   Several opportunities to grab control early in the 3rd quarter turned into a long scoreless stretch and the group found themselves in another hole that proved too big to escape.  The boys scrapped hard down the stretch, but could get no closer than 6, ultimately falling 58-47.   Collin O'Neal (17) and Kevin Die' (11) led the scoring, though I don't think anyone would claim to have had a particularly good night offensively.

After some days off for Thanksgiving, we should have our first practice ever (including summer) with our entire group next Monday.  The team has potential, but it may take some time to realize that potential.  Roll Red!
