Burkholder Gift to Have Lasting Impact on MBA

Montgomery Bell Academy Board Chairman David Ingram announced today that the school received a bequest that we believe will exceed $90 million from the estate of H. Frank Burkholder, Jr.

Mr. Burkholder graduated from MBA in 1956, was the captain of the 1955 football team that won the State Championship, and remained faithfully engaged in the MBA community.

MBA Headmaster Bradford Gioia expressed, "We are humbled by this extraordinary gift, a legacy given to MBA, its mission and community, by a graduate who preferred to remain understated and anonymous while he was living, giving this bequest selflessly in the highest form of nobility, generosity, and expression --- to better an institution he loved."
