Big Red Wins Season Opener

The Micbrobe Baseball A Squad won its season opening game versus the Nashville Monarchs 10-2.  Miller Freeman earned the victory on the mound yielding only 2 runs in 4 innings worth of work.  Down 2-0 in the second inning, the Big Red exploded for 6 runs and never looked back.  Daniel Cowan and Ben Coulthard each batting in 3 runs.  The defensive highlight of the night came in the second innning as well with an unorthodox 5-3-6 double play.  Later on in the 3rd inning Brady Slinger scored a run on a nifty base running trick by Ty Allen.  Patrick Butner fininshed the game out on the hill and effectively slammed the door on the Monarchs.
