On a perfect late summer afternoon, and under the ever thoughtful guidance of Coach Bromfield, the JS tennis team handed the BA Eagles a decisive 5-0 win.
7th grader Bruce Li at Line 1, played a first class match to beat his opponent 8-1. Team captain Charlie Nord also won his match 8-1; and rounding out our singles matches at line 3 - Max Schlosser, who was subbing for an injured teammate, beat his opponent 8-0, earning him the game day ball and a MBA tennis hat.
Our number 1 doubles team of Chris Topping and Andrew Smith followed suit and didn't give up a game against their opponents with another score of 8-0. New to the number two doubles position, Adrian Hufford and Merritt MacGaw played some brilliant tennis to win their debut match 8-1.
The doubles teams of Teddy Alapati/Blake Kitchin and Everett Stansell/Leo Cox won their exhibition matches 8-0 and 8-1 respectively.
Thank you to the Alapati and MacGaw families for the snacks and drinks.
Today's results should give our players the fuel they need for the upcoming match against Ensworth on Tuesday.
