The Junior School A Team competed against an organized and athletic Valor Collegiate Academy a perfect afternoon for futbol.
The first half saw a contest with mutual bouts of possession and heroic defending for both teams. However, the Big Red were fortunate to be ahead at half 1-0 from a Jess Judy effort from the right wing that sailed over the keeper's hands and into the upper netting.
In the second, the Big Red took advantage of the space left by more aggressive Valor positioning, and controlled the second with long spells of possession. Ricky Reynolds was key to keeping Valor off the scoresheet with important moments of distribution that thwarted the opposing press.
Ultimately, the final goal of the game came from a confident lash by Powell Byram, as the Big Red worked hard to close out the first test of the year.
