MBA defeats Ensworth 1-0

In the tightest game of the season thus far, a physical and fast Ensworth kept the Big Red JS Soccer team from our usual possession game.  Late in the half, goalkeeper Ricky Reynolds made a heroic one on one save to keep the score 0-0.  With several key 8th graders absent due to injury, the boys needed to ask questions of their mentality at the break, and in the second period they came out with a more physical effort.  

 

Scott Martin, Levi O'Roarke, and Quinn Sberna provided a gritty, defensive edge at all three levels of the pitch, leading to improved pressing.  Midway through the second half, Jude Andrews got on the end of a Levi O'Roarke cross to volley home the only goal of the match and win the game for the Reds.
