MBA defeated host Christ Presbyterian Academy by a score of 24-0 Friday night.
MBA defeated host Christ Presbyterian Academy by a score of 24-0 Friday night. After forcing the Lions to punt on their first possession, the Big Red drove 47 yards on 11 plays to score the opening touchdown of the game on an Andy Snyder run. After another defensive stand, MBA moved the ball 14 yards to set up a 47 yard field goal by Jordan Keckley. MBA’s next possession, a 9 play, 76 yard march capped by a David Howe touchdown run gave the Big Red a 17-0 lead, which they would not relinquish. Offensively, MBA established a strong ground gain, rushing for 120 yards on 37 carries. Senior Andy Snyder led the way with 79 yards on 15 carries. Quarterback David Howe also rushed for two touchdowns. Charlie Plageman led the receiving corps with 3 catches for 57 yards. Defensively, Mitchell Williams played his best game of the season, making 6 tackles, breaking up two passes, and intercepting another. Michael Swett had three tackles, including two for a loss, and linebacker Daniel Hightower played well to lead the shutout effort. MBA did not allow the Lions to cross midfield in the first half, and held CPA to only 145 yards of total offense.
