Results from Novice Stennius Debates at Miss.. State University (Sept. 7-8, 2007)
MBA novice debaters and extemporaneous speakers began the school year with very impressive wins at the tournament featuring 19 schools from Tennessee, Louisiana, and Mississippi. In novice debate the team of Jack Halleman and Chunsoo Park compiled a perfect record in prelims, reaching semifinals,and eventually losing a 2-1 decision in finals, earning second place at the competition. Competing for MBA were Marc Guigere, Jesse Suh, Wilson Parker, and Partha Reddy.

In speech events 8th grader Jamie Joyce swept to finals in two events, taking first place in the finals of extemporaneous speaking and second place in impromptu. Teammate Jackson Zeitlin also reached finals in both events, placing third in extemporaneous speaking and fourth in impromptu speaking. Eighth grader Paul Brazil made an impressive showing in impromptu speaking, also.
