Free Range, Locally Grown and Fresh. The Answer is . . .

What are three characteristics of the foods you can purchase through a partnership between MBA and Avalon Acres Farm?

Thanks to the visionary efforts of science teacher Chris Spiegel, MBA has arranged for Hohenwald’s Avalon Acres Farm, a Community Supported Agriculture “CSA” program, to sell a variety of the freshest, naturally-grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and pasture-raised poultry as well as free range beef, pork, lamb and eggs. These freshly harvested foods will be delivered directly to the MBA campus weekly.

Here’s how you can purchase these healthy goodies. Download and complete this form to be a “subscriber/member” and to purchase a “share” in this season’s harvest. The 26-week long "season" begins in early May and runs through the end of October. Be sure to write in “MBA” in the “Pick up” section of the registration form.

What are the benefits of participating in a CSA program?

  • You will receive fabulous, fresh, naturally-grown produce that is harvested at the peak of its growing season
  • Your order will be conveniently delivered each week, May through October, to MBA for pick-up (delivery details to follow)
  • You will be supporting local farming and environmentally sound growing
  • Your food order can be tailored to meet the needs of your family; and
  • You will introduce your family to a healthy variety of the freshest in local produce and meat!
