MBA Fall Art Show

The MBA Fall Art Show began as an idea to showcase the arts at MBA along with the athletics during the Spaghetti Supper Homecoming weekend. Since its inception, the Show has expanded to feature collections of artwork from artists chosen from the MBA community of alumni, parents and friends. The group of artist chosen each year is determined through an application and selection process conducted by the Art Show Committee and the MBA Art Department. All artwork is exhibited in the Davis Gallery and Gibbs Room on the MBA campus. All artwork is for sale and 20% of the sale price benefits the MBA Mother’s Club.
The MBA Fall Art Show will run from Wednesday, August 19 through Sunday, October 4, 2009. The Mother’s Club will host an Opening Reception on Friday, August 28 from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. in the Davis Gallery. There will also be a Closing Reception on Sunday, October 4 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
The following artists have been accepted for the 2009 show:
Michael H. C. Jones / Corey Metzman / Kats Berry / Hal Pickel / Michael Griffin / Rachel Gardner Smith / Trixie Pitts / Haden Pickel / Mary H. Cummins /Ann Carter Brothers / Emme Nelson Baxter / Otis Goodin / Jane Hughes Coble / Faye Maynard / Cynthia Vowell.
Charles Brindley, noted for his graphite on paper and oil paintings of historic landscapes and notable trees, has been recently requested by MBA to create a group of works of the major significant trees on campus. Charles will also be a special guest of the Fall Art Show.
