Civil Rights Class Tours Sit-in Sites

C. Fuller
On Friday, September 24, after the pep rally and lunch at the Elliston Soda Shop, Dr. Fuller's Civil Rights class headed to 5th Avenue for a walking tour of important sites of the lunch counter sit-ins in Nashville. The sit-ins began on February 13, 1960 and ended with the integration of the lunch counters on May 10, 1960. The MBA tour concluded in the Civil Rights Room at the Nashville Public Library, where Linda Barnickel introduced them to the collection, and the students began research for their documentaries.
