Thanks to the generosity of the Wilson Family, Montgomery Bell Academy is pleased to announce the formation of the:
Wilson Summer Science and Engineering Grants
These grants will allow select students to participate in summer research opportunities in the areas of science, technology, and engineering at some of the top research institutions in America. These scholarships will reward excellence and will fund the cost of the summer program, room and board (at schools outside of the Nashville area), and travel costs for students selected to participate. You can access information about these grants and find links to several of these university summer programs by using Whipple Hill - At School - Wilson Science and Engineering Scholarship Grants tab.
In you are interested, the student application process for the Scholarship Grant is simple:
- visit the web-site
- download the application
- research the programs recommended, or identify a program in which you are interested (the recommended list is not all inclusive).
- complete the scholarship application and submit it to your current science teacher.
- receive approval for the scholarship board.
- complete the application for the approved university program. It is the student's responsibility to complete the application for the university research program requested and achieve acceptance. Scholarship money will be released to the applicable university once the student has been approved for the program by the host university.
There are a limited number of scholarships available for this summer, but it is not too early to start researching opportunities for next summer, as well. If you have any questions about the scholarship program please contact Dr. Marro, Dr Dickens, or CDR. Carr.
