Chapter 16’s own Ed Tarkington lands a book deal with Algonquin

July 9, 2013 Contributing writer Ed Tarkington has just sold his debut novel to Algonquin Books, and we couldn’t possibly be prouder, not even if we had written that book ourselves. No official publication date has been set yet, but it will likely appear in the spring of 2015. Today Tarkington talks with Chapter 16 about Only Love Can Break Your Heart, which he calls a “mash-up of Cain and Abel, the Prodigal Son,The Graduate, and ‘A Rose for Emily,’ set in the small-town Upper South, with a soundtrack by Neil Young and Joni Mitchell.”
