The Head of the Hooch is the second largest Head Race in the United States, second to the Head of the Charles in Boston, MA. MBA had its strongest showing in the Varsity Eight Race in the team's 4.5 year history. The boat posted a time of 16:23.9, tying for 25th place of 61 boats. The Varsity eight placed 10 spots higher than a year ago and is closing the gap on McCallie. The Men's Youth Varsity events are extremely competitive and this is a significant shift for the team.
The Varsity 8 is led by coxswain and sophomore Davis Voecks also includes seniors: Stroud McMahan, Henry Ingram, Taylor Adams, Harrison Davis and Sam Gregory as well as juniors: Si Deane, Gage Anderson and Cameron Travis.

There are some young and promising oarsmen fielding the both the second varsity and lightweight varsity boats as well as the novice boats, the future is bright for MBA Crew.
MBA competes in it's last race of the season on Saturday November 9th in Augusta, GA where they will attend the Head of the South Regatta.
