Latin Students Do Well in Mid-State Junior Classical League Tournament

On Thursday, February 27, 18 Latin students competed in the Tennessee Junior Classical League's Mid-State Tournament at Hume-Fogg Academic High School. Forty ribbons were earned by our students in the eight categories: Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Derivatives, Mythology, Vocabulary, Roman History, Roman Life, and Heptathlon. Placement runs through 5th to 1st place. 

Alex Bulgarino (8th grade) took 3rd place in Derivatives I and Mythology I, 5th plae in Latin I Grammar.

Kang Huh (11th grade) took 3rd place in Roman Life IV and 4th place in Vocabulary IV.

Daniel Lee (8th grade) took 1st place in Derivatives I.

Brian Lu (8th grade) took 2nd place in Derivatives I, 5th place in Roman History I.

Rishi Mallipeddi (10th grade) took 3rd place in Roman History III and 5th place in Derivatives III.

Tarun Mallipeddi (12th grade) took 1st place in Derivatives IV, 1st place in Vocabulary IV, 2nd place in Advanced Gramar IV, 2nd place in Roman History IV, 3rd place in Heptathlon IV (a combination of all the tests), and 3rd place in Mythology IV.

Ellis Moore (9th grade) taook 4th place in Advanced Grammar II.

Nilay Patel (12th grade) took 2nd place in Vocabulary V+, 3rd place in Roman Life V+, 5th place in Advanced Grammar V+, and 5th place in Roman History V+.

Tom Peters (9th grade) took 1st pale in Advanced Grammar II, 4th place in Reading Comprehension II, and 5th place in Vocabulary II.

Will Peters (9th grade) took 2nd place in Advanced Grammar II and 3rd place in Reading Comprehension II.

Mac Roberts (8th grade) took 1st place in Reading Comprehension I and 4th place in Latin Grammar I.

Ian Scholer (11th grade) took 4th place in Vocabulary IV and 5th place in Advanced Grammar IV.

Jack Sullivan (8th grade) took 2nd place in Vocabulary I, 3rd place in Latin I Grammar, and 3rd place in Reading Comprehension I.

John Triplett (11th grade) took 2nd place in Advanced Grammar IV, 3rd place in Derivatives IV, 5th place in Reading Comprehension IV, and 5th place in Vocabulary IV.

Faris Wasim (11th grade) took 4th place in Derivatives IV, 4th place in Roman Life IV, and 5th place in Vocabulary IV.
