MBA Learns a Second Lesson of the Season at Ensworth
The JS Tennis lads took one on the chin at the Ensworth Tennis Center Tuesday afternoon losing 2-3 against a full strength Ensworth team.
When our top doubles team launched a second serve right into a teammate's back, the tennis odds seemed to be stacked against us on Tuesday afternoon at the Ensworth Tennis Center. Down 3-6 in that match, Max Schlosser and Alex Angus fought their way back (at one point reeling off 9 points in a row) to earn a thrilling 9-8 (7-3) tiebreaker victory on the #1 doubles line with the unflappable Coach Scholer standing by for support. Bruce Li notched a convincing 8-3 win on the number one singles line for the Big Red. And though they lost a pair of tough singles matches today, both Charlie Nord and Ricky Reynolds will look to bounce back tomorrow vs. Woodland Middle School at home.
In exhibition matches Adrian Hufford and Merritt MacGaw continued their unbeaten streak in tiebreakers this season to take down their opponents as well. Thanks go out to the Angus family for providing snacks and drinks for the entire team. The team will host Woodland Middle School tomorrow and USN next week as we gather our strength for one final push to topple the Tigers at the HVAC tournament next Friday afternoon.
