MBA Debate Having Great Start to Season

Here is an update from MBA head Debate Coach Josh Clark:
The debate team has gotten off to a fast and successful start this year.
Our top team of Jack Pacconi and Chanden Climaco has already accumulated three bids to the Tournament of Champions, finishing as quarterfinalists at Greenhill, semifinalists at New Trier, and the tournament champions of the prestigious St. Mark’s tournament.  The St. Mark’s tournament is a major tournament, equivalent to the U.S. Open in Tennis or Golf.
Our second team of Gene Herrmann and Asher Maxwell also finished as quarterfinalists at St Mark's defeating Glenbrook North's top team in the octofinals. Jack Young and Marshall Green also qualified to elimination rounds, and lost in the double-octofinals.
We have had some great showings from our second and third-year debaters.  Most recently at the Sophomore hoe down, Russell Howard and Raleigh Maxwell finished as runners-up and the team of John Howard and Kenny Royer finished as quarterfinalists.
Our novice teams have also been very strong, carrying undefeated records at nearly every tournament they have attended. Noah Perry and Maithreya Gowda, Justin Guo and William Peng, Aidan Moon and Owen Henderson, and Kavneer Majhail and Arish Singhvi have all finished undefeated at a novice tournament.
With around 50 debaters this is the biggest the team has been in my time here.
