MBA splits Matches with McCallie on the Mountain
MBA took 12 players to Sewanee to play a typically strong McCallie team. The "A team" match (nos. 1-6) ended 5-4 in McCallie's favor; the "B team" match (nos. 7-12) ended 5-4 to the Big Red, for an overall team score of 9-9.
The Junior School tennis team put in another strong effort in a great match against McCallie, coming within a whisker of winning the "Vining Cup" for the first time in nearly five years, and overall holding the outcome to an even split. Particularly impressive matches were played by #1 Doubles (Gaurish & Baker), #2 Doubles (William & Charlie), and some clutch wins in various singles matches by Hamp Lefler (#9), Eli Kraemer (#10), and Bryan Bass (#12), the latter in a dramatic tie-break to earn our final point. Many others contributed to the score and the team spirit was excellent throughout. We now return to the HVAC competition with a match against Ensworth on Monday.
