JS Tennis Slams Ensworth Tigers

The JS Tennis Team took full advantage of their 3PM early dismissal today.  Thanks to the efficient driving of Kashu Deresu and drinks and snacks provided by the Xu family, the team weathered rush hour traffic, a short drizzle, and screaming Ensworth eighth graders to defeat the Ensworth Tigers 5-0 in HVAC play, and 4-1 in the exhibition matches.

Though Ensworth was missing their top singles player, MBA's top three singles trio of Gaurish "Destroyer of Strings" Sahoo, Robert "I Robbed You" Hobart, and Shaun "Silent But Deadly" Xu dispatched their singles opponents with speed: 8-4, 8-1, and 8-3 respectively.  In singles exhibition play, Eli "Laserserve" Loudenslager showed no mercy in defeating two tigers in quick succession without dropping a single game.

In doubles play the dangerous duo of Henry 'How's That' Anderson and Eli 'Elike it' Kraemer toughed their way through a well coached Ensworth team that toggled from side to side at the net with alacrity, winning 8-3.  On the second doubles court, Alp 'Tweener' Weitkamp and Walker 'Dive in' Dovan took care of business 8-5 against a similarly mobile pair of Ensworth players.  In the final exhibition matches of the day, Cole 'Stonecole' Anderson and Rudi 'Yes Way' Wei outlasted their opponents 6-4 while Jude 'Judeboy' Bonvissuto and Armaan 'Armaageddon' Singhvi shook off a 1-6 exhibition match loss and defeated their second set of challengers 6-1.

The team ended by saying bon voyage to the 7th grade members of the team as they anticipate the 7th grade retreat. Now entering the final two weeks of the season, the JS tennis lads play host to Brentwood Academy next Tuesday at home at 3:30PM.
