MBA loses heartbreaker

The middle school soccer A team lost 2-1 to CPA in a very exciting final this evening. This was a game where our boys played really well throughout and were unfortunate to end up losing. Deservedly leading 1-0 at the half through a Thomas Roper headed goal off a corner kick, the boys created a number of goalscoring opportunities during the first thirty minutes. However, shortly into the second half, CPA leveled through their direct and physical play. Our boys responded very well and continued to pass the ball and regain momentum creating some good chances. Try as we did, we could not muster up the all-important second goal. This unfortunately fell to the opponent who held out for the win. As coaches, we are very proud of the boys both on and off the field and how they conducted themselves after a tough loss. A fun team to coach, while this was a heartbreaker for the boys, looking at the bigger picture, the soccer program will continue to be extremely competitive in the coming years. Well done lads!!
