Big Red falls in tourney opener

Varsity basketball fell tonight in the region quarters to CPA 63-61 to finish the season at 14-11.  The group played tight tonight and could never really get into the flow.  After leading 23-20 at half, a bad 3rd quarter put us in a hole that we almost dug out of, but could never seem to make the big play at the right time.  Collin O'Neal led the scoring with 19, followed by Kevin Die' with 14 and Nick Brunetti with 11.   We say goodbye to Seniors Benton Brown, NIck Brunetti, Hutton Durrett, Walker Derryberry, H McIllwain, Jake Moore, and Hutton Wall.  This team surprised us with the heights it could reach at times, but it could also occasionally fall flat, and tonight was unfortunately one of those nights.   We return a good core and have a number of younger players with potential.  We'll look forward to next year's group after appropriately celebrating the seniors and this year's accomplishments.  Roll Red!
