MBA's Trees Win Recognition

Gordon Chenery & Ed Gaffney

MBA's Harding Road campus has a number of wonderful old trees, and several were recognized as winners by the 2010 Nashville Tree Foundation's Big Old Tree contest. The trees selected as winners are the Shumard oak (Quercus shumardii) between Massey and Ingram, the American basswood (Tilia Americana) in the Quad, the American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) by the library/Carter, and an American elm (Ulmus Americana) on Montgomery Bell Ave. Local artist Charles Brindley has painted many of these trees. Those works are hung in the foyer of Pfeffer Auditorium in the Ingram Science Building.
